A driver was stopped and arrested travelling over double the speed limit through a road in Farnworth on Saturday evening.
Police say they stopped the driver of an Audi A3 around 8.20 on Saturday (July 24) evening in Bolton Road, Farnworth after they were spotted travelling over 60mph when exiting St Peter’s Way.
The male would then fail a drugs test and was subsequently arrested, according to police.
A GMP Traffic spokesman said: “The driver of the Audi A3 was stopped on Bolton Road, Farnworth having been seen travelling in excess of 60mph when exiting the A666.
“He must have forgotten it was a 30mph road through Farnworth. He failed a drug test and was arrested
“They were also issued a S59 warning due to manner of driving.”
