The number of patients being treated for Covid-19 at the Royal Bolton Hospital has begun to level out, while remaining stubbornly high, statistics show.
Bolton hospital was caring for 54 coronavirus patients in hospital as of July 20, the latest figures available.
This is almost double the amount of people who were being treated for the virus towards the end of last month, with 24 Covid patients at the hospital on June 25.
However, this is lower than it had been a week before — July 13 and 14 — where 58 and 61 patients were being treated respectively.
Patient numbers had dropped as low as 11 at the start of May, but the current number of patients is still far lower than previous highs during the pandemic, with Bolton Hospital treating as many as 150 people at points in January this year.
