A BMW stolen during a burglary in Westhoughton has been returned to its owner after being tracked down to Lostock by police.
The car was stolen at around 4.20am on Wednesday morning, but officers managed to locate the vehicle at approximately 6am after they had searched the area.
It has now been returned and enquiries are ongoing.
Police said: "Officers from D Relief Response attended reports of a house burglary in Westhoughton at 4.20am this morning, where a car had been stolen.
"Following an area search, officers located the car in Lostock.
"Vehicle returned to its rightful owner and enquiries ongoing."
