A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder in the latest stage of an investigation into the death of a man from Bolton.

Police were called to an address on Bradford Street, Bolton, to reports of a sudden death at around 10.30am on July 10.

Emergency services attended and discovered the body of a 46 year-old man, who was later named as David Jones.

Detectives continue to treat David's death as unexplained and are pursuing all lines of enquiry.

They are appealing to the public to come forward with any information that might assist in the investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Butterworth from GMP's Major Incident Team said: "This arrest is the latest development in our investigation and we're continuing to keep an open mind as we build a picture of the events of that day.

"The people who knew David, and the local community, could hold information that will help us to develop this into a clearer picture.

"It could be that you saw David that day, or you know the people he associated with. Any information, even if seemingly small, can help us to establish the circumstances of what was an untimely death of a much-loved man. You can do this anonymously, using our public portal."

A member of David's family paid tribute to him, saying: "David was a very big part of my life. He was caring, respected and liked by everybody who knew him. He will be missed so much. I cannot imagine life without him."
