Two cars were left on their roof last night after crashing during heavy rain on the motorway.
Police have warned motorists to be careful when driving as heavy rain hit the region last night and throughout today.
Traffic officers said they were kept very busy due to the conditions, with two incidents on the M61 leaving cars flipped onto their roofs
No one was seriously injured in the collisions, police said.
A GMP Traffic spokesman said: "The wet weather certainly kept officers busy last night. These two separate collisions on M61 were the result of heavy downpours.
"Thankfully no one was seriously injured. Remember always drive to the conditions and be able to stop in the distance you can see to be clear."
