Sometimes it is difficult to fully comprehend how big some of the mills operating in Bolton really were.
The massive weaving sheds of the late Victorian era were at the forefront of the textile revolution which brought prosperity to the town.
But even after the Second World War when mechanisation and foreign imports began to bite there were still many large operations.
This photograph, taken in 1973, shows the interior of the Baracuta factory on Fletcher Street where rainwear that was sold all over the world was made.
