A BUSY Westhoughton road will be shut throughout the weekend for emergency repairs.
The road will shut at 7pm tonight and for the duration of the weekend to allow for work to be carried out to the power supply to Daisy Hill Station.
Highways bosses have warned the closure could cause distruption.
A Bolton Council spokesman said: "We have been advised that Leigh Road will be closed this evening for the rest of the weekend to allow emergency repairs to the power supply to Daisy Hill Station.
"This is likely to cause disruption to both local traffic and residents in the area.
"There is a signed diversion is via Atherton and Newbrook Road.
"The work is planned to be completed by lunchtime on Sunday 01 August."
