A BUSY main road is shut this morning after a car is thought to have hit a wall in the early hours.
Emergency services were called to Stopes Road in Little Lever just after 2am
A woman was freed from the vehicle and taken to Salford Royal Hospital and the driver, a man, was able to free himself from the vehicle.
The fire service said they had to cut the roof off to free the trapped passenger, who was then treated by paramedics.
Firefighters said it is thought the car had hit a wall.
The road is closed both ways from Strangford Street to Settle Street.
The nature of the injuries are not known.
