If you examine your photo archive of 20 years ago, you will discover a photo of three men all wearing T-shirts carrying the same message ‘No War’.
The three men were respectively myself and two Quaker friends Barry Mills and Keith Dewhurst and we were all members of Bolton Stop the War
Stop the War opposed the attack on Afghanistan as well as the war on terror with which it was connected. Indeed in Bolton we organised a successful debate in the library entitled The War on Terror: Does it Make Sense? in which Dr Brian Iddon and myself spoke on opposite sides
We in Bolton Stop the War argued that the attack on Afghanistan and the war on terror would make things worse. And trillions of dollars and thousands thousands of lives later haven’t we been proved right?
