MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to participate in rehabilitation activities after he was caught carrying a knuckleduster in Ainsworth Lane, Bolton, on September 27 last year. Nathan Rutherford, aged 25, of Ainsworth Lane, initially denied committing possessing an offensive weapon in a public place but then changed his plea to guilty. As well as the rehabilitation activities, he was fined £50.

A WOMAN who failed to identify the driver of a Toyota Avensis to police on March 7 has been fined £660. Denise Kay, aged 39, of Chorley Old Road, Horwich, also had six penalty points were added to her licence.

A WOMAN has been fined £240 by a court after she attended a gathering at a Bolton house in breach of Covid regulations. Chloe Addis, aged 34, of Grimshaw Avenue, Failsworth, admitted being at the house in Moss Lea, Astley Bridge, on February 20 and also admitted obstructing a police officer.

A MAN who was drunk and disorderly at Bolton’s railway station has been sentenced to a conditional discharge for 12 months. Dean Whitehouse, aged 31, of Howard Street, Ashton-under-Lyne, pleaded guilty to committing the offence on April 17.

A MAN who spat at and assaulted two people at a Tesco Express in Manchester on August 23 has been given a suspended prison sentence. The offences were committed by Liam Lambert, aged 27, of Haydock Street, Bolton, who was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months and ordered to have treatment for alcohol addiction and participate in 15 days of rehabilitation activities. Lambert was also electronically tagged and is subject to an 8p to 7am curfew for six weeks. He must pay his victims a total of £185 in compensation.

A CONDITIONAL discharge for 12 months has been handed to a teenager who damaged a council house front door on June 11. Mason Winnard, aged 18, of Bentick Street, Farnworth, pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage at the house in Montserrat Road, Bolton. As well as the conditional discharge, he was ordered to pay £480 in compensation.

TWO women who damaged a front door have each been sentenced to a conditional discharge for 12 months.Sharon Rawlinson, aged 52, of South Street, Bolton, and Sarah Turner, aged 30, of Dijon Street, Bolton, both pleaded guilty to committing the offence on May 29. They were each ordered to pay £250 in compensation.

A MAN has been ordered to have treatment for alcohol addiction after he admitted using threatening behaviour towards two others in Bolton on August 5. Daniel Barlow, aged 31, of Sloane Street, Bolton, was given a community sentence which includes 200 hours of unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay a total of £200 in compensation to his victims.

A WOMAN caught driving at 86mph on the M62 at Rochdale on February 8 has been fined £200. Hena Khan, aged 27, of Rishton Lane, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offence.

A BMW driver who had no insurance has been fined £120. Charlotte Benson, aged 26, of Frank Street, Bolton, was caught driving a BMW 330 on Deepdale Road, Breightmet, on November 12 last year She initially denied having no insurance but changed her plea to guilty. As well as the fine, six penalty points were added to her licence.

A TRAIN passenger who failed to pay for a journey between Horwich Parkway and Preston has been fined £220. Christopher Shaw, of Garside Road, Bolton, committed the offence on April 6. He was ordered to pay £8.80 in compensation plus £184 in costs and charges.

MAGISTRATES have fined a man £242 after he drove a Citroen C4 without insurance. Daniel Sarkozi, aged 29, of Clyde Street, Bolton, was found to have committed the offence in Outwood Lane, Manchester, on November 13 last year. He was banned from driving for two months.

A WOMAN who bought a train ticket from Salford Crescent to Piccadilly station in Manchester had really travelled from Lostock. Rachael Thompson, aged 37, of Bloomfield, Markland Hill, made the journey on March 19, buying the cheaper ticket but, when questioned, admitted she had travelled further. In addition to the fine, Thompson was ordered to pay £5.60 in compensation plus £184 in costs and charges.

A TEENAGER who failed to produce a discount rail card has been fined £220. The court heard that Karmnt Ali, aged 19, of Belmont Road, Bolton, claimed he had a 16-25 railcard when he bought a discounted single ticket for travel between Deansgate and Manchester Oxford Road on March 20 but was unable to produce it when requested. In addition to the fine, Ali must pay £2.40 in compensation. plus £184 in costs and charges.
