THE wife of a man who died after being found unconscious in a Bolton bar has paid tribute "to the most loving, selfless and supportive man".

Police were called to Luxe Bar on Thursday after dad-of-two Robert Smethurst was found unconscious in the bar on Bradshawgate on Thursday.

Mr Smethurst, 36, from Farnworth, was treated at the scene by police officers and NWAS paramedics but died later at hospital.

His wife Amanda said: "My husband and father to our two beautiful angels was the most loving, selfless and supportive man.

"Our family and friends have been utterly destroyed by his loss."

Robert Owen Greenhalgh, aged 31, of no fixed abode, will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court charged in connection with the death of Robert Smethurst. He is also charged with a section 47 assault.
