AN extra night has been added to this year's Rivington Terraced Garden's Festival of Light after two dates sold out within days.

Tickets are now on sale for the event on Thursday, October 28 after the sell out success of October 29 and 30 nights.

The magical spectacle lights up the Pigeon Tower and Italian Lake, with surprise installations throughout the gardens.

The summer house and loggia's as well as the Lake’s waterfall, Neptune’s Pond and the various footpaths and woodlands surrounding it will all come alive with dancing lights.

Northern Monkey Brewery will be on hand to provide drinks and hot food, desserts and other treats will also be available.

Andrew Suter, Heritage Projects Manager at Rivington Terraced Gardens, says: “Just like 2019 when we last held the event, tickets have been snapped up at record pace and we’re delighted to be able to offer an additional night. Entry is strictly by ticket only and numbers are limited for safety reasons, so we would advise early booking to ensure attendance.

“Our fundraising efforts took a huge hit during lockdown, so this success is a much-needed boost for The Gardens and our fantastic volunteers who make it possible to run our busy events calendar. "Visitors should come dressed for October’s unpredictable weather and wear appropriate footwear as the ground can be uneven. A torch for the walk back to the car park is also advised."

Tickets are available online from www.rivingtonterracedgardens.org.uk

Doors open at 5.30pm and live music, lights and lasers will be switched on from 6pm

Tickets are priced at £14, £7 for children aged 6-16, and under-fives go free.

The ticketed entrance will be over Levers Bridge. Car Parking will be in Lower Rivington with the route up from South Lodge illuminated.
