The coronavirus rate has risen significantly in the latest round of figures.
The number of new Covid cases in the borough has been fluctuating over recent weeks, with the infection rate usually around 250 per 100,000.
However, a significant increase in the number of new cases has seen the rate jump above 280.
All but two boroughs in Greater Manchester have also seen a rise in cases, with Bolton being the only borough to still have an infection rate below 300 per 100,000.
Bolton has had the highest rate in the country on a few occasions, most recently in May when the town was the first area to see a spike in infections due to the spread of the Delta variant of Covid.
Surge testing and vaccinations were implemented after this, which has helped to give Bolton the lowest infection rate for Greater Manchester for some time now.
In the seven days to September 9, Bolton recorded 821 new positive cases of Covid-19, equalling an infection rate of 284.8 cases per 100,000 residents.
This is an increase from the previous seven days, to September 2, where the borough recorded an infection rate of 246.3 per 100,000.
Only Stockport and Bury saw their infection rates fall in these seven days with Tameside having by far the highest rate in the city-region.
