A MAN has suffered 'serious injuries' after a crash that left a busy commuter road closed for several hours.
Blackburn Road was closed at the junction of Stones Bank Road in Egerton, Bolton for around six hours earlier today.
Police were first called to the scene at 1.16am and closed the road while emergency services were in attendence.
The road remained closed until officers eventually anounced it had reopened just after 9am.
A fire service spokesman confirmed that two engines from Darwen attended the crash, which involved a single vehicle.
They were on the scene for an hour and a half.
