Pride is back in Bolton this weekend!

After a couple of years away from in person Pride celebrations due to Covid-19, Bolton Pride is back with a weekend full of activities and events, from September 17 to 19.

On Friday, the first event to kick off Pride will be, In Conversation with Bolton Pride, at the Octagon Theatre from 8:30pm - 10pm.

This event will be a panel discussion show featuring Carl Austin-Behan, Jsky, Char Bailey, Maz Hedehog, Mattie Davies and hosted by Dan Westwood.

This is a free event and tickets are still available from the Octagon Theatre box office.

The evening will be followed by the Bolton Pride launch party at the Octagon Theatre bar with live entertainment from Jordan Gray.

Tickets for the launch party are available but those who attend the panel discussion automatically have entry to the bar afterwards.

Saturday will be a Cabaret day full day of entertainment in the town centre at the Venue Bar on Churchgate.

From midday onwards there will be 12 hours of performers and fun including local artists singing, a range of live music, drag acts and standup acts.

Performers include sets from Rowetta, Little Miss Minogue, Jordan Gray and Ben Ofoedu of Phats and Small.

This is free entry where people are being advised to turn up at the door for access.

And lastly on Sunday there will be a family and expo day at the Market Place and the Patio.

Live entertainment will be on the patio and stalls will be open. Charities are also going to be at the event who support the LGBTQ+ community.

Within the Market Place the Hate Crime Hub will be present with hate crime awareness officers for people to talk to and also a rainbow police car.

The day will run from 11am until 4pm.

The Bolton Pride Team have put together the weekend of celebrations and they cant wait to welcome everyone to their events.

"2020 was tough for everyone and we just want to celebrate the chance to reconnect with anyone who wants to join us."
