NEW plans put forward to develop the Hulton Park estate have failed to win over opponents following a public consultation.

Opposition group, Hulton Estate Area Residents Together (HEART), is still fighting the plans in any form.

New plans for the estate put by developers Peel L&P include fewer houses, a new village hall and allotments.

It sounds like they have also failed to win over our readers too as they have reacted to the news on our website.

The Squire’sinResidence said: "I have an inkling that this place will be finished before the town centre debacle. Yes, Peel is in it for the money, but the locals will benefit hugely from it also, from higher house prices to the facilities that will be on your doorstep.

Scoobs said: "Keep the fight going. If you believe in something you fight for it. We are all nimbys each and everyone of us in some way."

Nigel 1965 said: "As much as anyone don’t want to see the development plans for Hulton Park but the reality is that they have not bought the land to remain idle, if this plan fails the next will be without a golf course , a new park would be nice with a large kids play area and a cafe.

Hula777 said: "Bring on the Ryder Cup. Until that is confirmed I don't believe anything they say."

The firm said: "We used to go there as kids in the scouts to be honest I live no where near it,it was a great place for 1000s of scouts to go camping and enjoying the outdoors. There will be no green space left for future generations if we build everywhere."
