Former Wanderers defender Jack Hobbs has returned to Lincoln City as a coach within the club’s Academy set-up.

The 33-year-old arrived at the UniBol in the summer of 2018 and went on to make 39 appearances for the Whites.

Hobbs came through the ranks at Lincoln and became the youngest player in the club’s history at 16 years and 149 days.

In 2005, the defender left the Imps to join Rafa Benitez’s Liverpool in the Premier League.

He also had spells with Leicester City, Hull City and Nottingham Forest before joining Wanderers, initially on a one-year deal before re-signing after the Football Ventures takeover.

Hobbs left the Whites when his contract expired in the summer of 2020 and is thrilled to be back in football, albeit in a different role.

“I had always hoped to play for Lincoln City again and, although that never happened, I feel honoured to have the opportunity to coach at the club,” he told the club’s website.

“I’m delighted to be back at the club where it all started for me as a player. I hope to impart as much knowledge as possible to the younger players and pass on some of what I’ve learnt throughout my 15 years as a pro.”
