WANDERERS pair Ricardo Santos and George Thomason have been shortlisted for the 2021 North West Football Awards.

Santos is up for the League Two Player of the Season award following his consistent performances in defence as Ian Evatt’s men won promotion last term.

The defender joined the Whites on a free transfer in the summer of 2020 following his departure from Barnet.

Santos made a seamless transition to life in the Football League, becoming an ever-present figure at the heart of defence.

Meanwhile, Thomason is up for the Rising Star of the Season award after becoming an integral member of the first-team squad in the second half of the season.

The young midfielder joined Wanderers from Longridge Town in January 2020 and spent time on loan at non-league Bamber Bridge last term.

Thomason became the surprise package of the season after returning to the UniBol, making 24 appearances as the Whites achieved a second-place finish.

You can vote for both players here, and voting closes at 5pm on Friday, October 15.

The award ceremony will take place on Monday, November 22 at Emirates Old Trafford and will be hosted by broadcaster Dan Walker.

Last year, Phil Mason was awarded the Unsung Hero prize after devoting years of service to the Whites as club chaplain and head of community trust.
