A PLEA has been made for unused health and care equipment in Bolton to be returned.

The Integrated Community Equipment Store, which is funded by Bolton Council and the Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, is running a low on some items as a result of supply chain issues.

People with unused crutches, walking frames, trolleys or other items are encouraged to drop them off at the depot on Adelaide Street.

Alternatively collection can also be arranged by calling 01204 337262 or emaling icesstore@bolton.gov.uk.

Councillor Andy Morgan, Bolton Council’s executive cabinet member for adult services, urged people to return the unused gear.

He said supply chain issues had contributed to the body falling low on stock.

He said: “The Integrated Community Equipment Store provides valuable support for members of our community who otherwise might not be able to live independently.

“We are operating as normal but unfortunately some supply chain issues mean there is a chance we might run low on some of the equipment we need.

“If, for whatever reason, you have unused equipment from the store, please return it as soon as possible so it can be used to support residents in need.”
