CHILDREN in Bolton will receive their Covid jab within the next month.

Health bosses have moved to reassure parents about the vaccine.

Currently Bolton is rolling out the booster which will now be available at vaccination sites.

Dr Helen Wall, senior responsible officer for the vaccination programme in Bolton, said: "Children who are 12-15 who have underlying health conditions will be called to attend local vaccine sites and all healthy 12-15 year olds will be offered a Covid vaccine in school within the next three to for weeks.. Eligible patients across Bolton for booster jabs are being called in priority order for their third Covid-19 vaccination. This will be a minimum of six months after their second dose and will be offered to the following people:

Dr Helen Wall, senior responsible officer for the vaccination programme in Bolton, said: “The majority of our sites will be operating an appointment only booster programme at this time apart from Horwich RMI and Hootons Pharmacy, which are accepting walk-ins if you are eligible. Current guidance is that all booster doses should be Pfizer as this offers enhanced protection."

Please note the following applies to all vaccination sites:

• If you have your NHS number handy it will help to speed up the process, but it isn’t essential

• Face coverings are required at all vaccination sites

• AZ for 40+ only

• First and second doses should be a minimum of 8 weeks apart
