Poultry, game and 28-day dry aged beef will be just some of the dishes on offer as a restaurant revealed its new autumn menu.

The Cross Guns Inn, Egerton will launch the menu on Monday.

Designed by the whole team, headed up by head chef Daniel Sunderland Watson, the menu has been created with the focus of 'seasonal ingredients in mind.

The poultry, game and 28-day dry aged beef are all sourced from local butcher Barrens of Beef.

The grill section has cuts including 28 day aged English 8oz fillet of beef, 10oz sirloin steak and a 35oz tomahawk steak for two.

The menu also includes dishes such as seared scallops, caramelised cauliflower, curry sauce or pan roasted pigeon, sweetcorn, bacon jam, pigeon jus to start followed by venison loin, mulled red cabbage, potato wrapped black pudding, blackberry or monkfish, salt baked beetroot, charred leeks and mussel velouté.

Jon Peek, general manager said: “We are thrilled to launch our brand-new menu, which combines a host of exciting new additions. The menu reflects everything with special dishes to suit every palate and budget. Top quality steaks sit alongside a varied range of other dishes, inspired by the best of British and local produce.

“The menu has been designed by the whole team, this is something we are incredibly passionate about tapping into their knowledge that the team has gained by working in such places like Northcote, L'enclume & Rogan and co”.
