Ridley Road is the latest drama to be airing on the BBC this year, which is based on the novel by Jo Bloom.
The four-part programme follows the story of Vivien Epstein, a young Jewish woman who goes undercover inside a fascist organisation in the 1960s.
Newcomer Agnes O’Casey takes on the lead role as Epstein, with the supporting cast featuring Eddie Marsan, Tracy-Ann Oberman, Tamzin Outhwaite and Rory Kinnear.
Bloom’s book was published in 2015, with an adaptation announced as far back as August 2019.
The Covid-19 pandemic put a halt to production, with filming eventually getting underway in September 2020.
“It’s a scary story but ultimately, it’s one of triumph and hope.”
