THE husband of a young mother who died suddenly has spoken of his and his daughters’ devastation after their tragic loss.

Sara Stiller, who grew up in Atherton, was just 34 when the recurring kidney failure that had plagued her for 11 years claimed her life.

She left behind husband Dave, 35, and three-year-old daughter Ellie.

Now they are determined to give Sara a memorable funeral service and to preserve the home they built together.

Mr Stiller said: “She literally idolised our girl, and she’s keeping me going through this to be fair.

"The most important thing we need to do now is raise money for the funeral and I’m just thinking how to stay in this house.”

Sara was put on dialysis in 2013, having had both a kidney and pancreas transplant in 2013. Fortunately, despite her illness Sara gave birth to Ellie in 2018 thanks to IVF treatment.

But tragedy struck last week when Sara suffered a stroke and died, just as Mr Stiller found out he would have been eligible to donate his kidney to her, which he had been desperate to do.

Now with close friend Lisa Gilmore, the family has launched a campaign to fund the funeral, keep the family home and raise awareness of kidney failure, keeping Sara's memory alive.

Mr Stiller said daughter Ellie had faced such turmoil already, keeping her in the home she knows and loves and with her friends and school nearby is vital.

He said: “All our memories are built up in this house and we’ve got three lovely dogs we don’t want to rehome. All our friends and all our neighbours are around here, Ellie’s school is just a stone’s throw away and they’ve been so supportive with everything that’s happened.”

Ms Gilmore added: "Sara was one of the strongest people I have ever met, loving, caring, who would do absolutely anything for anyone."

“She loved her husband and her daughter more than anything on the planet, she had a heart of gold and would help absolutely anyone who needed it, even if they where complete strangers, not to mention her love for animals.”

She added: “We are doing this fundraising to help both Dave and Ellie to give there wife and mum the send off she deserves.”
