RESIDENTS at a Horwich care home have been tucking into the best of British cuisine with the help of a visiting chef.

People living at Four Seasons St Catherine’s, in Queen Street, have been savouring steak and kidney pies, Bakewell tarts and Yorkshire puddings.

Chef Wayne Woolman helped to arrange the culinary experience as part of an exercise by the Four Seasons group in support of British Food Fortnight.

Resident Nora Gilliver, aged 99, said: “I really enjoyed helping Chef in the kitchen and chatting about my favourite meals when I was young.”

John Bridgeman, the firm’s food development chef, said: “Our residents really enjoy the nostalgia that comes with having a meal that is special to them.

"It gets everyone talking and is a wonderful occasion to share memories."
