A THIEF who burgled Costa Coffee has been jailed for 60 weeks after magistrates heard of his “appalling” criminal record.
Stephen Done, aged 48, of Wolfenden Street, Bolton, broke into the shop, in Trinity Retail Park, Bolton, on August 7 and stole cash.
The same day he also interfered with a Skoda Fabia with the intention of stealing.
At the time Done was subject to suspended prison sentences for other offences.
Done pleaded guilty to committing the latest crimes and, jailing him, magistrates told him: “The offences are so serious because you have, what can only be described as, an appalling record of offending going back many years.
“You have repeatedly failed to abide by orders of the court and continued to offend for a very lengthy period.
“In November last year, for three offences of burglary, you received a 12-month suspended sentence.
“You have now offended again during the currency of that sentence by committing a further burglary which involved a forced entry to the premises.”
