An investigation has begun after a fire broke out at a business unit in Bolton.

Emergency services were called to Fishbrook Industrial Estate at around 9pm on yesterday evening following reports of a blaze at BKM Pallets.

Upon their arrival they found the unit, a van and wooden pallets well alight.

The fire service used three fire engines and an aerial appliance to battle the blaze.

They were able to do this in around three hours and left the premises at midnight.

The damage from the fire could be seen on pallets stacked up outside the business and bits of the roof had been ripped through.

And today fire investigators have been sent to the unit.

Fire investigator John Lloyd said at the scene: “We will be determining whether we are going to involve the police.

“At the moment we haven’t got any leads for our investigation.”

There were no injuries reported during the incident.

A business owner based at a neighbouring property said his electricity had been cut as a result of the blaze but was expecting this to return later on today.

Elsewhere on the industrial estate business continued as normal.
