A MAN has died after a disturbance earlier this month in which several people were injured.

Kunil Nur, 44, was taken to Royal Bolton Hospital after sustaining minor injuries during a disturbance on Linney Square in Wigan on October 4.

Mr Nur was discharged from the hospital but died on October 10, with a post-mortem carried out and detectives now calling for witnesses to the disturbance to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Sophie O'Rourke said: "First and foremost our thoughts remain with the man's family who are understandably devastated.

"We immediately launched an investigation and all available lines of enquiry and CCTV checks have been carried out since the reported disturbance in Wigan."

Two men and a woman have been arrested in connection with the incident and bailed pending further enquiries as the investigation into the cause of his death continues.

DS O'Rouke said: "We're keeping an open mind around the circumstances of his death and are now in a position to appeal for anyone who may have witnessed a disturbance on Linney Square late that evening to contact us.

"Anyone with information can report it online at www.gmp.police.uk quoting log number 22 of 04/10/2021 or by calling 0161 856 7251.

"Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
