Two lanes have been closed on a major motorway after a crash involving 'multiple' vehicles.
The lanes have been closed on the M62 eastbound towards Rochdale just after Simister Island (junction 18).
'Long delays' are being reported in the area with traffic queuing back to junction 17.
Traffic was completely stopped for some time to deal with the incident.
A Transport for Greater Manchester spokesman said: "M62 Eastbound J18 (Simister Island) to M60 J19 (Middleton). Two lanes closed due to a multi-vehicle collision.
"Long delays in the area. Plan your journey if you're heading this way."
