THIS Halloween, Bolton's very own ghostbusters will be out and about investigating reported hauntings in and around town.

And among the places paranormal investigation team Para-Northern, will visit, is the historic former Castle Street Police Station and Courts, reputedly one of Bolton's most haunted places.

The team will spend a night at the station to explore ghostly sightings that have reported there.

They include seeing a lady in white holding a lantern.

And members of the public will be be part of Bolton's very own version of Most Haunted – with all proceeds from ticket sales going to charity.

Emma Flood, who runs the group, said: “We’ve been there three or four times and found it to be one of the most haunted places we’ve been to, with the most activity.

“The first time there were a few strange noises, and something sounded like it was dragged across the floor.

“At the end of the evening, a couple of people were playing with a Ouija board when all of a sudden there was change of atmosphere and heard a small voice say ‘hello.’”

On Halloween itself, the team will visit a farmhouse in Bolton, where the owners say they hear their names being shouted, doors opening and closing on their own and things being moved around.

Emma said: “We went once and in the bedroom we all heard the door rattling and it was like something was going to come through the door at us.

“Activity has ramped up at the house since the family began some building world, so they have asked us to come back to investigate.

“People ask us because we don’t charge anything, we do it because we’re interested, and people trust us.”

The final stop for the team will be a house in Wood Street, Bolton, an office building where maintenance men have reported hearing footsteps on the stairs – when nobody else is there.

Emma said: “One of the men who heard it is 72-years-old, so he wouldn’t lie. He said he can’t explain what it was but that’s what he heard.”

Emma is no stranger to a ghostly experiences as she says she used to talk to what her mum thought was an imaginary friend.
