An ‘iconic’ singer is coming to Bolton as part of UK-wide anniversary tour.

The Alarm’s frontman, Mike Peters, is set to visit X-Records on Bridge Street on Thursday to celebrate the release of his 40th anniversary anthology, History Repeating 1981 – 2021.

The anthology features 40 of the Welsh rock band’s best-known hits, including Two Rivers, Equals and In The Poppy Fields.

The gig kicks off at 4pm, with the singer treating guests to an unforgettable evening featuring a live performance and record signing.

Mike Peters said: “I’m looking forward to visiting X-Records in Bolton and celebrating the release of The Alarm History Repeating 1981 - 2021.

“Steve, who owns the store has always kept a great inventory of music on both CD and LP and has supported artists like myself and The Alarm long before the new vinyl revival has driven music-loving people back into record stores.

“After two tough years of lockdown, where music has helped keep us strong, it will be a thrill playing The Alarm’s music to fans in the record store.

“There will be time for requests and to have those cherished Alarm records signed and I’m sure it will get us all in the mood for the official Alarm 40th Anniversary tour in March to April 2022.”

Fans can purchase a copy of the double vinyl and CD on X-Record’s website, which can then be signed by Mike at the event.

For those who are unable to attend the event, X-Records has a limited number of Records and CDs which can be signed at the event and posted out.

These copies should also be purchased via the shop’s website.

Steve Meekings, the record shop's owners, added: “We are very excited about Mike Peters performing here in Bolton.

“It’s a big thing for us to have such an iconic artist come to X-Records.

“Mike’s been to our shop before, following the release of Equals, and his performance was brilliant.

“There will be a meet and greet, a signing session and a live performance.

Mike’s tour will take him all across the UK, including Cardiff, Oxfordshire, Portsmouth, London, Liverpool, Bury and Bolton.
