A MAJOR cannabis farm was discovered over last night in what appeared to be a so-called "drying room."
The cannabis was was discovered while police officers from the Farnworth and Kearsley Neighbourhood Policing Team while checking a building in the area.
While searching the building they found a cannabis drying room, which is used to prepare the plants before they are sold on the streets.
This comes not long after the discovery of several other illicit cannabis protection facilities throughout Bolton.
One of the largest of these was when more than £1million worth of the Class B drug plants were discovered in Bolton town centre in August of this year.
The discovery was made on the Bradshawgate Manchester Road border with up to 11 rooms full discovered.
A similar incident occurred in Westhoughton earlier in October when police raided a home on Chorley Road, finding up to 40 plants.
A 36-year-old man was arrested at the scene and was later charged.
In the case of last night's discovery, officers have confirmed that the building has been cleared of the cannabis and the plants been destroyed.
