A Bolton man is due to go on trial next year accused of two counts of assault.
Gareth Davies appeared in Bolton Crown Court yesterday.
It is said he both caused and inflicted grievous bodily harm against the same man on the same day in February this year.
The two offences are said to have taken place in Bolton.
Davies, 42, pleaded not guilty to both the charges.
Judge Tom Gilbart fixed a trial, expected to last between two and three days, for May next year.
He instructed Davies, of Brookdale Close in Bolton, to provide a defence statement setting out his response to the allegation.
