There were capital gains for Rosemere Cancer Foundation as the charity had the support of a London Marathon runner.
Steph Ellison, 29, from Bolton, is a trainee gynae-oncology clinical nurse specialist at Rosemere Cancer Centre, Lancashire and South Cumbria’s specialist cancer treatment and radiotherapy centre at the Royal Preston Hospital.
Steph crossed the finish line in 4 hours, 28 minutes to raise almost £900 for the foundation.
She achieved her London start through the marathon’s entry ballot after six consecutive years of trying for a place.
Steph has been running on and off for the last seven years and has taken part in 5ks, 10ks and half marathons.
She said: “I was very proud to support Rosemere Cancer Foundation in the marathon, which was a challenging, stressful yet wonderful experience.
“I want to say thank you to everyone who supported me.”
