Police are appealing for information after a 46-year-old woman was stabbed in her leg and robbed in Longsight Park in Bolton.

The woman was approached by four men, all dressed in black clothing and believed to be late teens - who stole the victim's mobile phone and bank card before stabbing her in the leg.

Emergency services attended and a 46-year-old woman was taken to hospital and treated for a small puncture wound to her leg and discharged.

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

PC Thomas Hall, of GMP's Bolton district, said: "This is a shocking attack in which a woman was robbed and then stabbed.

"We will absolutely not tolerate such violent behaviour in Greater Manchester and are doing all we can to find those responsible.

"If anyone has any information at all please do not hesitate to contact police."
