Crash: The incident happened on the M61 this morning
TWO motorway lanes have been closed after a crash.
The incident occurred on the M61 northbound between junctions 5 and 6 between Westhoughton and Horwich.
According to the Inrix Travel App, the crash involved a crane.
Transport for Greater Manchester confirmed that the road traffic collision at around 11.30am on Monday morning.
Police and fire services are currently at the scene.
Lane 2 was reopened at just after 1pm, according to Transport for Greater Manchester.
But Lane 1 remains closed.
Road users have been advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
