AN authentic Turkish steak restaurant has opened its doors with a dessert parlour upstairs.

Beefalo Meat House in Astley Bridge has added a dessert section, Magnolia, upstairs.

Chef and owner Bayram Yuce wanted to give diners an experience unlike no other, taking them upstairs to Magnolia with separate staff and a different look, to make them feel like they are somewhere else.

There are currently four of the restaurants set up by Chef Yuce in England, with a fifth planned in Warrington next month and a sixth next year.

He said: “My dad was a pastry chef in the sweet business, and that’s what I used to run and own first.

“I wanted to bring that to Bolton. I did all of this in four years, opening four different restaurants and have more opening soon.

“I think it works here because there is a big Asian community as well and they love Turkish food. It’s like another restaurant so people can feel like they are in a different place.”

Magnolia serves homemade fare by Turkish pastry chefs, with four different baklava served with gelato.

The kitchen will have kunefe – a baked filo pastry with melted cheese, topped with pistachio and ice cream, Turkish milk puddings, and luxury cakes and ice cream flavours.

Chef Yuce has not yet had a chance to fully explore Bolton.

He said: “The reason we moved here is because we realised people were coming from all over the pace to try our food. Thirty per cent of our customers in Liverpool were from Bolton.

“The opening has been really well received, I train all my staff myself and in the hands of trained chefs.”

On the menu, is garlic steak, beyran soup – a slow-cooked beef broth, kiymali borek – a hand-rolled filo pastry with minced meat and cheese, grilled steaks and a selection of butcher’s cuts including sirloin, lokum and lamb cage, all cut at the table and presented by the chef.

For even finer dining, golden steak cuts are available.

Chef Yuce has been in the business for 25 years, starting out in pastry desserts in his Turkish hometown of Kastemonu.

Beefalo often welcomes footballers such as Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, and Dejan Lovren among others.
