There are likely to be long delays on a major motorway after a lorry came off the carriageway.
The M6 southbound between junction 28 near Leyland to junction 27 near Wigan has one lane closed due to a 'collision'.
Pictures show the collision having caused a lorry turned on its side and falling down a grass verge.
Highways North West say the closure is set to be in place 'for some time' as the recovery of the lorry takes place.
