STUNNING poppy displays have been put up across Bolton to commemorate fallen war heroes as Bolton remembers.
Local communities and councillors across Bolton have put up displays of poppies, soldiers, horses, and planes.
An eye-catching display has been placed on the grass island on Bury New Road, Breightmet
It features Tommy soldier figures, horses and planes with an array of poppies.
Ward councillor, Adele Warren, described the display as a fitting tribute.
She said: “The display has grown each year and takes a lot of volunteer hours to put together.
“We were able to add to last years display by kind donations from the community and fund raising from Bolton Newt.
“The horse and plane were cut out by Alex at Hardscape Products Limited and painted by volunteers.
“We really hope people find this a fitting tribute to our fallen heroes and also donate to The Royal British Legion to continue their good work.”
Another beautiful display has been designed on Fold Road at Stoneclough in Kearsley.
Villagers of Stoneclough, Ringley and Prestolee joined forces after a request from David De Souza asked them to help make a poppy waterfall for Remembrance Sunday.
They collected bottle bottoms, painted them red and black and stuck them to a giant net to create the waterfall effect.
The landlord of the Horseshoe constructed a wooden frame and people worked together to erect the stunning memorial.
Rivington Pike will also be displaying an illuminated poppy from Thursday November 11 to Sunday November 14 in remembrance of the fallen heroes.
Organisers are inviting members of the public to visit the displays.
Remembrance Day takes place on Sunday and tomorrow The Bolton News will bring you the times of the services taking place around Bolton.
