A POPULAR craft and gift market is set to return to Bolton in the run up to Christmas.

The Christmas Handmade Market will be held in the Albert Halls.

The festive event, organised by MWL Events, will take place on Saturday, November 20 from 10am until 4pm.

Visitors will have the chance to purchase festive gifts, with the market stalls showcasing the work of around 40 talented craftsmen and women.

Stalls include Candle Cat, Fudge Around, Kath Pearson Designs, Pattern Rabbit Crafts, Pearl’s Pretty Things, D’PendantSea and Mooreish Baking.

Traders will showcase a variety of handmade crafts, including jewellery, greeting cards, photography, artwork and also delicious cakes and treats.

There will also be artisan food stalls, as well as live music throughout the day.

The owner of MWL Events, Katherine Brookes, said: “We are thrilled to be back at the Albert halls after we had to cancel last year’s Christmas market due to Covid.

“It’s always a fantastic turnout and one of our traders’ favourite venues to sell their makes at.”

As a talented artist and designer herself, Katherine takes pride in helping other makers sell their products for the first time at the markets.

She hand-picks every stallholder for her markets and is frequently complimented on the quality of the handcrafted products on offer.

Katherine currently has a network of more than 2,500 'creators' on her books and is always on the lookout for more

MWL Events first brought the handmade markets to Bolton in 2015 and they have been popular in the borough ever since.

A spokesman for MWL Events said:“This stunning venue lends itself to an event like this and the people who have previously visited one of our events here were thrilled to have the opportunity to buy unique handcrafted gifts in the heart of the town.”

The events company hosted another artisan market in Heaton Fold Garden Centre last month, which was a huge success despite the bad weather.
