ACTORS at The Octagon are set to take families on a festive journey to Neverland in the coming weeks as rehearsals are held for their upcoming production of Peter Pan.

This wonderful musical adaptation of J.M. Barrie’s classic tale promises fun for all the family – filled with music, magic and mischief and will run from November 26 to January 9.

The Christmas spectacular is directed by the Octagon’s artistic director, Lotte Wakeham, and has been adapted for the stage by Sarah Punshon. It will include songs by Claire Tustin and Ziad Jabero.

Audiences are being told to get set for an awfully big adventure with fairies, crocodiles and pirates as Peter, Wendy and the Lost Boys take on the dastardly Captain Hook, in what promises to be the perfect treat for the whole family.

Lotte said: “We are currently busy in rehearsals for Peter Pan which are going really well.

"We have a fantastic cast and creative team who are all thrilled to be working on the very first festive show in our new building.

“This adaptation brings together everything you could want for the perfect family treat – it is full of fun, music and magic and I cannot wait to share it with our audiences this festive season.”

Matthew Heywood will take the title role, Purvi Parmar stars as Wendy, Amy Drake as Captain Hook, Jason Patel as Tinkerbell and Robert Jackson as Smee.

As well as their principal roles, the actors will also play numerous other roles including the gang of pirates, a troupe of fairies and the Lost Boys.

The creative team includes set and costume design by Rose Revitt, musical direction by Matthew Malone, lighting design by Jane Lallijee, sound design by Chris Whybrow, movement direction by Jonnie Riordan and assistant direction by Francesca Tennant.
