THE cake maker who delivered a six-foot cake last Christmas to the Royal Bolton Hospital, will appear on Channel 5 to show viewers how she did it.

Rosie Drummer, also known as Rosie Cake-Diva, wanted to make the cake, ‘A Hug for Christmas’, as a thank you to the staff at the trust for all their hard work during the pandemic.

The Christmas Cakes and Bakes episode will go through how Rosie made her life-sized cake on Channel 5 this Sunday at 6pm.

Speaking to The Bolton News last year, she said: “We’ve seen how hard it is for staff – my daughter is a student doctor so we feel very appreciative and very close to the NHS.

“I’m just trying to do the best I can with a little time and a bit of icing – I wanted to get the emotion and love into the cake to say a huge thank you to everyone working so hard for us.”

Commenting on the cake last year, Andy Ennis, deputy chief executive and chief operating officer at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We were delighted with Rosie’s kind gesture.

“It has put such a smile on people’s faces after what has been a tough year for our staff.

’The cake was absolutely incredible, and also very tasty.”
