A DRIVE-IN cinema is opening in Bolton with all your favourite Christmas films.

The outdoor cinema, in the grounds of Bolton Arena, will host a weekend of festive films on December 11 to 12, from 5pm and 8pm.

Films to be shown are How The Grinch Stole Christmas, at 5pm on the Saturday, followed by The Polar Express at 8pm.

Home Alone will be one for the children at 5pm on the Sunday, while adults can enjoy comedy favourite, Elf at 8pm.

Details of the new cinema were revealed on Bolton Arena’s Facebook page.

An official said: “Have you booked your tickets yet for our Christmas Drive In Cinema? Hurry, the event is only a few weeks away.

“Call 01204 488100 to book your tickets today, and watch your festive favourites on the big screen.”

Hot food and drink will also be available but guests are also welcome to bring their own snacks.

A spokesman for the arena added: “We’re excited to announce that on Saturday and Sunday December 11 and 12, we’ll be hosting our very own Christmas Drive-In Cinema.

“The event will see a variety of some of your festive favourites over the weekend.”

The main car park opens approximately an hour before each film is due to start.

All vehicles attending the drive-in event must have a working in-car stereo system in order to access the film audio.

Smaller vehicles are advised to arrive early in order to be positioned in front of the car park.

Larger vehicles including 4x4’s will be positioned to the rear of the car park.

Staff on the evening will endeavour to ensure that all vehicles have good views of the screen. Tickets are priced at £30 per car.
