WYCOMBE boss Gareth Ainsworth says Wanderers are a “very good” and “expansive” side ahead of Saturday’s League One clash.

The Chairboys sit fourth in the league table after picking up 31 points from their opening 17 matches, including nine wins.

However, Ainsworth’s men are without a victory in their last six games in all competitions following Tuesday night’s 1-0 defeat against Hartlepool in the FA Cup.

The Wycombe boss insists his side’s performances have been better than recent results suggest and is confident they can return to winning ways soon.

"There's been no toys out the pram, no teacups. We’re just working hard to focus on Bolton Wanderers knowing that if we keep playing like we have been this season then we'll win a lot of games,” he told the club’s website.

"Somebody is going to take a real beating off us and I hope it comes soon. We're creating a lot of chances and playing more football than maybe we have in recent years.

“But we just need to hit the target better and when we achieve that, I'll be a happy man.

"We know we need to start scoring goals. That's the focus for us in training this week and I've got plenty of great players that I've got total faith in.

"Bolton are a very good side, very expansive, and their manager Ian Evatt has got them playing in a good way.

“Whatever it takes, we'll get back at it, and we'll be at the top end of League 1 at the end of the season, I'm sure of it."

Wanderers enter the game in 11th place following a 2-0 victory against Crewe in their last league outing.

Evatt’s men will be looking to bounce back from Wednesday night’s 5-3 defeat against Stockport County in the FA Cup.
