WANDERERS are back at the UniBol when they take on Richie Wellens’ Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday night (KO 8pm).
Ian Evatt’s men enter the game on the back of a 1-0 defeat against Wycombe over the weekend despite a battling performance.
Team news
MJ Williams is due to see a consultant this week after suffering a dislocated shoulder against Wycombe.
Alex Baptiste is also facing a spell on the sidelines after suffering an ankle injury at Adams Park.
However, Eoin Doyle has a “very good chance” of making the squad after missing several games due to a calf problem.
As for the visitors, Ben Close and Pontus Dahlberg could both return to the side.
Opposition lowdown
Former Salford boss Wellens took charge at the Keepmoat Stadium back in May, succeeding Darren Moore.
Doncaster sit 23rd in the league table after taking 13 points from their opening 17 matches, including three wins.
The Yorkshire outfit were held to a 0-0 draw against Lincoln over the weekend, with Aidan Barlow coming closest to breaking the deadlock.
Head-to-head
- Wanderers have faced Doncaster 12 times in their history, with a record of seven wins, one draw and four defeats
- Their last win in the fixture came in April 2014 when Neil Danns and Joe Mason were on target in a 2-1 victory in Yorkshire
Last meeting
Doncaster edged a tight affair when the sides last met back in February 2020 following a 2-1 win at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Fejiri Okenabirhie and Niall Ennis were on target for the hosts while Joe Dodoo pulled one back for the Whites in the second half.
It was one of Wanderers’ final games before the campaign was cut short due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
