Fire services were called to a property in Bolton last night after a kettle caused a blaze.
Smoke was seen on Temple Road near Astley Bridge at around 11.30pm.
Crews were sent to the scene from the Bolton and Bolton North stations.
A fire service spokesperson said: “A kettle had been left on a stove and the occupant had fallen asleep.
“We managed to gain entry to the property and turned the stove off and they made sure the occupant was alright.
“There was a slight amount of smoke, we ventilated it.
“The ambulance was called just to check the occupant over.”
