A SECTION of a busy motorway has been closed this morning after a crash.
Highways England announced at around 3am that a collision had occurred and that the M62 had been closed in both directions between Junction 7 at Rainhill and Junction 8 at Westbrook near Warrington.
The westbound carriage was eventually reopened at around 5.15am, however the eastbound carriage remained closed between Junctions 7 and 8.
Highways England then confirmed that the lane was fully reopened at 10.20am.
The crash caused about two miles of congestion, adding around 20 minutes onto normal journey times.
