A NEW pop-up station for rapid Covid testing has opened in Bolton Town Centre.

The Community Testing Hub is located on Oxford Street, opposite the Post Office and next to Specsavers.

Anyone who works or lives in Bolton can pop in and get a Covid-19 rapid test and staff will be on hand to assist.

One in three people with Covid do not have any symptoms but can still pass the virus on to others.

Everyone is urged to routinely take a rapid test before mixing with others to reduce the risk of spreading the virus.

The Community Testing Hub is ideal for anyone visiting the town centre for Christmas shopping as well as staff in hospitality, retail and other customer-facing roles at this busy time of year.

Visitors using the hub can take a test on site and get their test results in 30 minutes, or take away tests to use at home.

Staff can also explain how to use a rapid test and how to register the results online.

For anyone who does test positive for coronavirus, the staff will be on hand to offer help and advice about what to do when self-isolating.

No booking is required as the hub has been designed as a drop-in centre for anyone who wishes to access a test quickly.

The hub is open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8.30am to 4.30pm, Thursday from 10.30am to 6.30pm; Friday and Saturday from 8.30am to 4.30pm and on Sunday from 10.30am to 3.30pm.

Taking a rapid Covid test is one of the simple steps that can be taken to help keep Covid rates down this winter.

Other measures, including regular hand washing, keeping rooms well ventilated and getting fully vaccinated, are set out in Bolton Council’s Covid’s Still Here Campaign.
