WANDERERS will be looking to make it back-to-back wins in League One when they host Cheltenham on Saturday afternoon (KO 3pm).

Ian Evatt’s men recorded a comfortable 3-0 win against Doncaster in their last outing thanks to goals from Eoin Doyle, Elias Kachunga and George Thomason.

Team news

Lloyd Isgrove will be out of action for at least 12 weeks after suffering a grade three hamstring tear against Doncaster.

Dapo Afolayan also misses out through suspension, but Alex Baptiste could return to the side after missing Tuesday night’s game due to a medial ligament injury.

The Whites are also hoping for positive news about MJ Williams, who is due to see a specialist today after suffering a dislocated shoulder at Wycombe.

Opposition lowdown

Cheltenham clinched the League Two title last season, ending a 12-year wait to return to the third tier.

This term, Michael Duff’s men sit 10th in the league table on 26 points – just one more than Wanderers.

The Robins enter the game on the back of a 2-0 win at Gillingham on Tuesday night thanks to goals from Sean Long and Alfie May.

Head-to-head

  • Wanderers have faced Cheltenham three times in their history, with a record of one win, one draw and one defeat
  • Their last victory in the fixture came in December 2020 when Ryan Delaney scored a dramatic late winner at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium

Last meeting

The points were shared when the sides last met earlier this year following a 1-1 draw at the UniBol in League Two.

The Robins took the lead early in the second half when May scored from close range after Matt Gilks had saved from William Boyle’s header.

But the Whites refused to be beaten and Eoin Doyle slotted home from Arthur Gnahoua’a cut-back with just three minutes to go.
