An man police say was wanted was arrested by motorway police in the early hours of yesterday morning after he was stopped by police for having his brake lights stuck on.
Officers from North West Motorway Police noticed that the man's brake lights were not functioning properly and pulled him over.
The driver of a Vauxhall Zafira was then stopped on Bolton Road, Farnworth, but further investigations by traffic officers found the driver to be a provisional license holder, with no insurance held and no MOT.
Officers discovered that he was also wanted as he failed to appear at Manchester Magistrates for a serious assault.
The car was seized and the driver was arrested at the scene.
