STAFF at Mecca Bingo are hoping to spread some Christmas Cheer to those who may need it over the festive period.

The Bolton branch are supporting its Everyone Deserves a Christmas appeal by donating festive hampers as part of the company wide scheme

The Bingo operator is to donate hampers to local charity the Bolton Advice Centre, who will distribute them out to those that need it most this Christmas.

Mecca Bolton general manager Vicky Slater said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing back Mecca’s Everyone Deserves a Christmas appeal for a second year and to be helping those who need it the most within our community.

“Christmas should be magical and we are determined to make it as special as can be for as many as possible.

“We just couldn’t do this without the incredible support of our customers and local supporters – we know this year that people will exceed all expectations with their generosity.”

Bolton Advice Centre offer free support to the Bolton community on a wide range of issues, such as debt and homelessness.

The charity also aims to support people by giving them advice on benefit claims, disability and domestic violence.

Last year 3,800 hampers were provided in total by Mecca, with the aim this year to beat that figure.

Mecca hope that the community will pull together and donate either money or items for the hampers, as it looks to create over 4,000 of them in total.

Each hamper is valued at £50, and Mecca Bolton have been set a target of donating at least 50 hampers, along with the other 76 Mecca Bingo Clubs across the UK.

Any donated goods can be dropped off at the club on Ormrod Street in the town centre.
